The typical North Star student/client is a bright teenage boy from a good home. He has many talents and immense possibility. However, this admirable kid is now encountering one, or a combination of the ensuing struggles, such as... negative peer association, defiance, problems with authority, lack of motivation, argumentative, depression, anxiety, or addiction, etc. He may currently be active in self-destructive behavior: school nonperformance, other self-harming acts of rebellion, and/or struggling with substance abuse and/or addictions, recently suspended from school or expelled, flaunt negative actions that purposefully generates shock, compulsive lying, continual manipulation, and fails to take accountability for his actions.
North Star Treatment Center is a licensed Residential Treatment Center for teenage boys, ages 12-17 years old. North Star is in the beautiful serene setting of Southern Utah, near Zion’s National Park. We have over 30 years of experience helping struggling teen boys become productive healthy and respectful young men. We provide a safe environment within a faith-based structured program with a Christian element that is non-denominational. We provide therapeutic services which include individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy for youth who struggle with mental, emotional, and behavioral challenges. We also provide an accredited schooling program to ensure each child's education continues to progress as they work on struggles that require attention. North Star's program is focused on building each boy to become healthy, productive, and strong in each of the following aspects... mentally, physically, socially, and spiritually. We believe in following the example of Jesus Christ, according to the Bible, in the book of Luke 2:52, as it states…
"And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man." Therefore, we believe in following His example in helping each boy progress within a fulfilled and balanced life.
You can rest assured as your child embarks on their treatment journey; he will not fall behind academically. We believe that the value of every young man is great in the sight of God, and we take great measure to help each boy overcome struggles and turn them into strengths.
North Star Treatment Center is a licensed Residential Treatment Center providing various levels of care, both Inpatient and Outpatient services. The different program types, or levels of care offer services that meet your child’s needs as progress is made, until he is ready to transition home. The various types of programs within the specific levels of care is extremely helpful when utilizing private insurance. This full range of treatment services is more capable of focusing on each step within your child’s progress, to effectively cover treatment needs. The different types of programs, or Levels of Care are as follows:
Intensive Outpatient, and
Our Academic program offers both Online Courses, and Paper Courses. Paper Courses are typically utilized for those who excel without the Online Courses. This blended academic environment allows students to progress at a rate that allows each student to successfully stay on track of their education, which working through other areas of crisis where treatment is received.
North Star is accredited through Ed Options/ Edmentum.
Each instructor is certified for the course they teach
North Star facilities have been designed to provide proper supervision in all aspects of the program to ensure safety for each student. There are only 2 residents per room, with a private bathroom per room. There are designated areas and rooms for individual therapy, group therapy, as well as Academics, and Dining, Activities, and medical needs.
Private insurance is accepted, and usually a great way to cover treatment expenses based on medical necessity.
Payment plans for cash self-pay clients can be discussed if no private insurance is held.
